Special attention was directed to Professor Häckel's recent discovery of the occasional occurrence of direct or abbreviated development in Aurelia aurita.

Professor Parker exhibited and remarked upon specimens of a species of Saccharomyces found in great quantity on the surface of tan-pits at Mornington, near Dunedin.

Professor Parker exhibited and made remarks upon sections of the stem of Macrocystis, showing sieve-tubes, like those of Cucurbita.
