A Pliocene fossil of south Italy, found living in the Adriatic, Mediterranean, and off the Canaries, in deep water (552 fathoms, “Challenger” Exped.).

Specimens of this shell, kindly named by Professor W. H. Dall, were dredged off Little Barrier Island in about 20 fathoms by Mr. R. H. Shakespear. This forms a very interesting addition to the fauna of New Zealand.
