Report of The Publication Committee.

The fourth part of Volume 58 was issued on 19th March, 1928, and contained 4 plus 270 plus 12 pages. Details of the earlier parts were given in last year's report. The total for the volume is 638 pages of Proceedings and Transactions, plus 41 plates. The papers number 46 by 32 authors.

For Volume 59, 62 papers by 46 authors were submitted of which 5 were declined or are still under consideration. Part 1 contains 4 plus 211 pages; Part 2, 4 plus 215 pages; Part 3, 4 plus 232 pages. These contain 44 papers by 33 authors, illustrated by 77 plates, besides line drawings. Details of Part 4 cannot yet be given, though a considerable part is already in print.

The MSS. for Part 6 of Dixon's “Bryology of New Zealand” was received during the year; it has been set, and the pages are now with Mr. Dixon in England for final revision. This part will conclude Bulletin 3 and none other is in hand.

A gratifying feature of the contributions is the more varied nature of the subjects dealt with.

We should like to express our appreciation of the promptness of the printers, Messrs. Ferguson and Osborn, Ltd., in getting out the parts, a promptness that is appreciated by the contributors, and which, moreover, enables the Institute to see exactly where it is at the close of each volume, seeing that no accumulation of papers is left on hand.
