A New Species of Lilaeopsis from New Zealand.

Kew Bulletin of Miscellaneous Information, No. 7, 1928, Art. 39, pp. 266–267, 1 fig.

A New species, Lilaeopsis orbicularis, is described to accommodate specimens collected by Guthrie-Smith at Tutira (type in Herb. Kew) and by Cheeseman in Auckland.

The genus Lilaeopsis in New Zealand (Crantzia in Cheeseman's Man. N.Z. Flora, 1925, p. 656) has now three species characterized as follows:

L. novae-zelandiae (Gandog.) A. W. Hill.—Umbels 3–4 fld, fruits ovoid, 1.25 mm. long, ribs subacute. Various localities in South Island.

L. lacustris A. W. Hill.—Umbels 5–7 fld, fruits cylindrical, 2 mm. long, ribs rounded. Various localities in North Island.

L. orbicularis A. W. Hill.—Umbels 2–5 fld, fruits orbicular 2–2.5 mm. long, ribs indistinct, much rounded. Tutira, Auckland.

The exact distribution of the species awaits investigation.
