Length of Anterior Radius.
The anterior portion of the scale is that which is enclosed in the scale pocket. From this part age and growth determinations are made.

The anterior portion of the scale does not vary to such an extent as other dimensions. Generally the anterior radius of the scale increases in length from the head towards the tail.
