A List of the Mycetozoa Collected Chiefly in the Vicinity of Dunedin, New Zealand

[Read before the Otago Institute, November 14, 1933; received by the Editor, August 27, 1936; issued seprately, March, 1937.]

The present list of 24 genera and 84 species and varieties is the result of three seasons' intensive collecting. As very few species have hitherto been recorded from New Zealand, it is hoped that the present catalogue will be of value as a contribution to the knowledge of the distribution of the group. Descriptions and figures have been purposely omitted since all the species mentioned are described and beautifully figured in coloured plates and line-drawings in Lister's Monograph of the Mycetozoa, published by the British Museum, and easily available to any who wish to study the group. The small Handbook, also published by the British Museum, can be obtained for a few pence and is an excellent guide to the classification, and is well illustrated. It has been considered, therefore, that descriptions and figures in the present paper would be redundant. In conclusion, I would like to thank Dr. M. N. Watt for introducing me to this fascinating group in the first place, and for much help and encouragement since.
